Help For Haiti Assembly

Help for Haiti.

Report by Millie & Shannon, Class 10

For all of last week we were bringing in 10p’s or more for Haiti. We had long rulers for each class and the money that was brought in was put on each ruler.

This week a group of year 6 girls performed a song for Haiti called Sometimes I Wonder. They practiced for 1 week before lunch and they got the hang of it after 2 days.

The money that was brought in will be sent away on Wednesday to help the people of Haiti.

The song:

Sometimes I wonder,

Why people suffer,

Why all the pain and sorrow?

So much injustice

Weeping and sadness,

Here in our world today.

CHORUS

Pain won’t be here forever,

Sadness will turn to laughter

Mourning will turn to dancing

And our tears will be wiped away.

Looking around me,

I see such anger

Why must we hurt each other?

So many people

Living in sadness,

Here in our world today.

CHORUS

Where there is heartache,

Where there is grieving,

I want to feel compassion,

May I give comfort,

 Where there is hurting,

May I bring love again?

We sung this song in front of the whole school and we were shaking!

Singers:

Shannon, Millie, Fiona, Sasha, Ginni-Ann, Lizzie, Summer, Jessica, Chloe.
