IT'S ALL HAPPENING!!!

It's all been happening!!!

We've had the Key Stage 1 Nativity which was superb and a pleasure to watch.

This morning all of Key Stage 2 were at St. Francis' Church in Littlemoor singing carols. We were treated to a fantastic dance by some Year 6 pupils - well done to them!

And if that wasn't enough, the Year 4 children put on a small concert to display their musical talents - here is Shannon & Millie's report:

Today the Year 4 children performed a String concert in front of parents and Key Stage 2.

They started off by playing Little Donkey. Shannon played a solo on the keyboard to start off with. Then we all sang at the 2nd verse.

The second song was Christmas Cake, then they played Silent Night. It was lovely and calm and we enjoyed it a lot!

Finally they finished off with Jingle Bells. They played on their cellos and violins while we sang along! It was very entertaining!!

Gymnastics Display
Yesterday some Year 2 and Year 3 children put on a gymnastics display in the hall. Our parents were watching us while we were doing it. We had to line up in a certain order to do our warm up. Then we had to perform some normal springboard jumps into a pike, a tuck, a straddle, a straight and a star.

We found this quite easy but others found it quite difficult. Our gymnastics teacher was Miss Ashmore and she came from the West Dorset Schools Sports Partnership. We have been taught once a week for this term. It was fantastic and we really enjoyed taking part. At the end we all got certificates with stickers on for Levels 1 & 2.

Anti-Bullying Week At Bincombe (as well as Ofsted!)
This week was a very exciting week. It was very busy as we had Ofsted visiting us on the Tuesday and Wednesday, and we spent a lot of time looking and thinking about anti-bullying.

We had to give our friends friendship tokens and make anti-bullying posters in ICT. Each class had to choose some of their best posters to show in assembly this morning and Year 2 won the trophy for being the best class at friendship.
Ofsted was really kind and helped us if we needed help even though they were inspecting the class. I tried to show my best to make a good impression.
Sasha, Class 10.

The Ofsted report will be coming out in approximately 3 weeks. - Ed.

Bincombe's playground Monitors
Today at lunchtime, Mrs Howlett came to train the lunchtime monitors. The monitors are responsible for putting on activities for the Key Stage 2 pupils. She taught the monitors how to make a hand knot with a group of children, a game called Guess the Rhyme, and the monitors were given a book with lots of different activities.
The monitors are Year 5 & 6 children from classes 9 & 10.

I am looking forward to being a Lunchtime Monitor. I start on Monday 16th November and I'm looking forward to it!!

Declan, Class 10.

Class 10's Harvest Assembly
The children of Class 10 put on a small but thought provoking assembly about what we consider as 'valuable'. Is it our games consoles? Is it a packet of seeds?
Later on in the week the Year 6 School Councillors took the harvest donations to the Lantern with Mr Strong.
