On the 28^th of March 2012, Class One put on a wonderful performance based on the story of ‘Meg and Mog in the Garden’.

The show started off with a great 'oomph' and stayed that way until the end. The lovely pupils of Bincombe Valley took the crowd's breath away with their outstanding interpretation of the bird dance. It was top notch!

So out of everything which happened, that class deserved a clap - which they got!

We all liked doing our Assembly. First we sang “Hello to you.” Then we told the story of “A Squash and a Squeeze” by Julia Donaldson. That was the best bit! Next we sang the farm song. After that we showed our farm pictures. At the end, we said our School Prayer. Now we all feel proud of ourselves. Our Mums and Dads said “Well done!”

On Wednesday 21^st March, Class 2 performed their assembly. It was split into 2 parts: the first part was a play based on a book called A Squash & A Squeeze. The play was about an old woman who lived in a cottage but she thought it was too small. She asked a wise old man for help and he said, “Take in all your animals.” So she went home and first she took in her goat, then her pig and then finally her cow! Now that she had all her animals in her house, she went back to the old man. He said, “Take out all your animals.” So she did. Then she realised that her house was huge!

The second part of the assembly was Class 2 singing songs; the main song was Down On The Farm. After the songs, the children shared their drawings and painting with us.

The assembly was brought to a close by Mrs Cobb asking the children all about their artwork.

Where The Wild Things Are

On Wednesday the 14^th March, 9 o’clock, all of Bincombe Valley Primary School gathered together in the school hall to watch class 7’s assembly called: Where The Wild Things Are. First of all they introduced the play, then on came a little boy called Max whose parents have just came in from work and cooked a lovely dinner. Everything was going swimmingly until Max decided he was going to misbehave; unfortunately get sent to his room. When he got to his room he flopped down on his bed and suddenly, found himself in a boat. In shock (but still angry with his parents) Max found himself to be floating away to where the wild things are……

Sat on the floor four girls were rapidly waving dark blue and light blue ribbon to represent the sea. Next showing their amazing coloured and designed masks, on came the wild things and began to do a brilliant dance! Leaping, roaring and showing there claws, the wild thing carried on doing their amazing dance for about 3 minutes and then came to a halt and sat back on the benches by the side of the hall. Then Max realised that he needed to be somewhere were people loved him so of he sailed in his boat back home to the human world.

To finish off, Mr Strong asked the children to repeat their dance whilst the children walked back to their class rooms. In conclusion we think that the assembly was really good; the costumes, masks and scenery were really realistic!
